The Assistant Communications Director develops professional journalistic work within the communications office involving the preparation and dissemination of information in support of Kansas Athletics’ programs and services. This position serves as the primary media contact for the Kansas Women's Basketball and Kansas Tennis team and assists in the overall publicity efforts for Kansas’ 18 sports.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Must have at least three years of experience in an intercollegiate communications office and/or related field;
  • An understanding of the Statcrew Software for Basketball;
  • Must have proven written and oral communications skills;
  • Ability to tell stories through a variety of media across multiple platforms;
  • Experience and knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check;
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed during peak game and recruiting seasons.
