Director of Coaching (Full-Time)

Reports to: Back Mountain Youth Soccer Association Board of Directors

Founded in 1978, Back Mountain Youth Soccer Association (BMYSA) is a non-profit, youth soccer organization serving youth soccer players grades first – twelve, ages five - eighteen. Back Mountain Youth Soccer Association is the only 900-member youth soccer organization within Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. The mission of BMYSA is to challenge the sport intellect, educate the youth, and create an experience that positively impacts a youth athletes’ character development.

Position Responsibilities

Operations

• Daily Point of Contact for players, parents, and coaches
• Identify, recruit, hire, and train qualified coaches and trainers for the club
• Run weekly player pool training sessions
• Manage club schedules (Field Use, Practice, Game, Camp, Clinic)
• Organizes and oversees seasonal field setup and breakdown
• Will attend all State and League meetings as directed by the President
• Help create and manage club fundraising efforts and community sponsor relationships

Player Development

• Responsible for seasonal player evals
• Manage and expand the player development pathway and programming
• Communicate with players, parents, and staff coaches club events, programs, and happenings

Coach Development

• Assist with and help develop curriculum for staff coaches
• Communicate coaching education opportunities to trainers and coaches
• Observe and manage staff coaches to help continue their coaching education and abilities

Ability to work weekend/evening hours necessary as well as all other duties to be assigned by BMYSA Board of Directors. Job performance based on increased participation in event offerings tournaments, camps, fundraising and overall management of BMYSA Recreation/Travel programs
