Assist the Head Football Coach develop and maintain a quality NCAA Division I A Football program that will be competitive on the field and in the classroom within NCAA guidelines and in a professional manner. Serve as an offensive coordinator/coach working with the offense and the athletes to develop the offensive system and individual skills. Serve as a positive authority figure, a role model and a counselor to our student athletes advising them in matters related to their sport and education. Serve as an ambassador of the university and a valued member of the community. Make public appearances and speak at civic events within the community in the absence of the head coach or as assigned; attend national, Conference USA meetings and national football conventions to stay current of their sports including changes that occur. Expected to know and follow NCAA rules and regulations and successfully pass the recruiting test each year to recruit for the university. The assistant coach will immediately report any known violations of NCAA rules to the Director of Compliance; ensure all NCAA Compliance documentation is completed accurately and turned in to the compliance office in a timely fashion. Essential duties include organization and administration of the university’s NCAA Division I Football offensive system and assisting the Head Coach with: on field coaching, on/off campus recruiting, scheduling, budget funds, monitor student athlete’s academic progress and break down opponents tendencies for scouting reports. Provide general counsel and advising to athletes, assist the head coach in development of an offensive play book, break down game film and perform other related special projects assigned by the Head Coach.

Two (2) years of High School, College or Professional coaching and/or collegiate and/or professional competition experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. |
