Director of Athletics and Recreation

• serves as the College’s principal representative in the field of intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the College President regarding compliance matters and NCAA and conference membership.
• ensures compliance with the NCAA DIII Manual, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools guidelines for athletics programs.
• collaborates with academic departments to ensure academic success for student-athletes, including timely graduation.
• coordinates all institutional effectiveness programs for the Athletics and Recreation department.
• develops and manages athletics and fitness facilities, including the Centenary Fitness Center.
• ensures that all varsity sports teams reach specified annual recruiting goals.
• provides fiscal oversight of the intercollegiate athletics and recreation programs, intramural programs, club sports, and related activities.
• assures that departmental planning and decisions promote a full commitment to increased diversity in student involvement with athletics, gender equity, and successful athletics experiences by all students who participate.
