Sports Medicine, Sports Medicine - Athletic Training, Sports Medicine - Strength & Conditioning
The Athletic Trainer serves in the Division of Athletics and reports to Assistant AD of Athletic Medicine. This position is responsible assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the medical and rehabilitation programs and needs of student-athletes.
This position requires a Master's Degree and one year of relevant work experience. Candidates with more than 3 three years of relevant work experience may be considered at the Assistant Director of Athletic Medicine level. Baylor will determine the level for which applicants will be considered. Experience will not be accepted in lieu of the educational requirement.
National Athletic Training Certification is required. Texas Athletic Training License is required but can be obtained after employment offer is accepted. This position will support Baylor's men's baseball team.
Provide medical care to athletes at practice, training, and competition events. Administer treatment under the supervision of the Assistant AD of Athletic Medicine and Team Physician.
Maintain communication with student-athletes, parents, coaches, team physicians, and administration on progress of student athletes. Maintain proper documentation as necessary.
Assist in the maintenance and proper use of athletic training facilities in order to create an efficient and safe working environment.
Assist with the management of the student athletic training education program.
Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and institution rules and regulations and to communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to the Athletics Compliance staff.
Other program duties as requested by the Director of Athletics or the area head.
