This position leads and directs a comprehensive performance program designed to develop our student-athletes to compete and win at the Division I level. The Associate Athletic Director is responsible for fostering a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness throughout all levels of the organization. This position requires flexibility, efficiency, and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for a wide variety of assignments. The incumbent in this role will deal with highly sensitive and confidential information. The position requires the ability to integrate complicated bodies of knowledge and strong analytical ability. The position performs complex functions, establishes priorities, resolves issues, and operates with significant autonomy.
Reporting directly to the Dir. of Medical Services/Chief Med Officer, this position will be responsible for these areas impacting student-athlete performance: • Nutrition, speed, strength, and conditioning for all varsity student-athletes. • Evaluates student-athletes performance ability. • Designs and directs all aspects of the sport-specific performance training for all NCAA teams. • Works with physicians and trainers to design return to performance for injured athletes. • Advises head sport coaches in the optimization of technical/tactical planning to improve performance and mitigate injury. • Collaborates with campus partners in the areas of mental well-being, nutrition, and overall health.
• Masters in Exercise/Sport Physiology or directly related field. • NSCA (CSCS) and CSCCa (SCCC) certifications. • Experience working in NCAA Division I Athletics. • Experience managing high performance programs (e.g., collegiate or professional sport.) • Track record of performance enhancement resulting in improved/successful outcomes. • Excellent analytical and communication skills. • Experience managing complex tasks where attention to detail is essential to success. • Demonstrates strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written)
