The Athletic Director is responsible for the recruitment, retention and completion of the Owens Community College student athletes. In addition, this role is the primary compliance officer for the college’s athletic teams and athletic participation. The Athletic Director works within the college, and across the community, to bring awareness to the accomplishments of our student athletes both on the field of competition and in the classroom. As a team member in the Student Services division, the Athletic Director works collaboratively with college leadership at all levels to ensure policies and procedures are followed, and looks for new and innovative ways to leverage the experience of student athletics to enhance the college and greater community.
A Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. At least 5 years experience in athletics administration, experience as an assistant, associate or athletic director at the college-level strongly preferred. Or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
Professional Licenses/Certifications: First Aid and CPR certified or willing to acquire certifications.
