Description: Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, the intern staff athletic trainer plays an important role as a member of the athletic training staff. This individual will primarily serve as a staff athletic trainer with coverage responsibilities of cross-country, track and field, and men’s basketball with additional responsibilities as assigned. In addition, the position will have supervision responsibilities as a preceptor of students in the Erskine College Athletic Training Program.
Provide medical coverage to the assigned teams. This includes all in-season practice and event coverage as well as travel with the teams. In addition, coverage of out of season practices and events when scheduling allows.
Serve as a preceptor in the EC AT Program with direct instruction and supervision of athletic training students.
Assist the instructor in the teaching of clinical classes and/or lab sessions as needed
Uphold the mission statement of both the EC AT Program and Erskine College
Degree from a CAATE accredited undergraduate or graduate program
BOC certified or eligible to sit for the BOC exam
SC state certification or eligible for state certification
Certified as a professional rescuer by the American Red Cross
$20,000 for a 10-month appointment beginning August 3, 2020 and ending May 31st, 2021
