Minot State University is seeking candidates for a full-time Assistant Football Coach - Defensive Coordinator Member. This position reports to the Head Football Coach and is a NCAA Division II intercollegiate football program in compliance with all NCAA, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and institutional rules and regulations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating the successful recruitment of prospective student-athletes, academic support, skill instruction, practice/game planning and execution, and the primary scheme of the defense.
Coaching Responsibilities 1.Coach a competitive football program which meets annually established goals in a manner which promotes sportsmanship among athletes and ensures compliance with all NCAA, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, and institutional rules and regulations. 2.Recruit outstanding student athletes to participate in the athletic program that fit the academic profile of the institution and are good citizens on campus and in the community. 3.Enthusiastically promote Minot State University academic and athletic programs to potential students, parents, guidance counselors and media. Ensure that players associated with the football program are eligible under NCAA DII and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regulations. 4.Work cooperatively with the athletic administrative team to effectively contribute to monitoring student athlete academic progress, encouraging high standards, and counseling the University athlete as appropriate. 5.Share the Minot State University vision, and promote public awareness of Minot State University, its football program, athletics, and academics, with emphasis on public relations. Participate enthusiastically in fundraising efforts. 6.Effectively supervise assistant coaches, student athletes, and student assistants to result in a competitive, ethical program. 7.Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach and/or Director of Athletics.
Knowledge, skills and abilities preferred to perform duties and responsibilities described above:
1. Football coaching experience. 2. Possess general computer skills required, database management software experience preferred. 3. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be on your feet for much of the day. 4. Have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills. 5. Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
Staff members have a duty to cooperate with and furnish the NCAA, the conference or institution with truthful and complete information concerning involvement in or knowledge of rules violations.
A coach or staff member may be suspended or terminated if found to be involved in deliberate and/or serious violations of NCAA regulations
Rules education, satisfactory rules knowledge and documenting compliance activities are mandatory and athletics personnel will be evaluated on their performance
