The United States Naval Academy has an immediate F/T position for an Instructor/Administrative Assistant for Operations and Facilities. The position is classified as a Military Human Resource Officer (HRO).
Position Description. Upon selection, the applicant will be commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy with permanent assignment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Initial contract will be three years, with two one-year options. The position is supervised and coordinated by the Director of Physical Education, Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities and Maintenance, and the Associate Director of Athletics for Operations and Championships. Specific responsibilities include: - Scheduling and coordination of athletic facilities in support of physical education and athletics. Includes Event Management for USNA Varsity Athletic Competitions. - Assisting with the short term planning of facility improvements. - Working effectively with the entire staff of the athletic department and more broadly across the Academy to ensure long term schedule planning and event management for athletics - Instructing eight hours of Physical Education Weekly. - Other duties as assigned by the Director of Physical Education.
Citizenship: Applicants must be United States Citizens.
Age: at least 19 and no more than 35 years of age at the time of interview.
Education. Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution. Competitive Candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to Physical Education/Athletics (examples: exercise science, kinesiology, sports management, etc), professional certifications, or relevant high-level athletic/coaching experience.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends in support of athletic competitions.
Must be physically qualified for commission, IAW NAVMED P-117 and DoD Instruction 6130.03. Applicants must be physically fit and capable of excelling in the Navy’s Physical Readiness Test. Expertise in core subjects (combatives, Olympic Sports, Strength and Conditioning) preferred.
