North Park University, a member of the nationally recognized College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, invites applications for the position of Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach. This 12-month position directs all aspects of the intercollegiate Cross Country team including recruitment, retention, coaching, scheduling, team travel, and budgeting. The secondary duty will be to serve as the Assistant Track and Field Coach.
•Manage all phases of competitive NCAA and CCIW compliant recruiting.
•Ensure a commitment to the academic success of student-athletes, including monitoring academic performance, attendance, and social behavior.
•Provide on-site coaching in meets and practices, including organization and implementation of daily training schedules for all team members.
•Build and sustain positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and the community.
•Participate in fundraising and development events and be highly visible in the community.
•Hire, supervise, develop, and evaluate part-time, volunteer, or graduate assistant coaches.
•Complete other duties as assigned by the athletic director or associate athletic directors.
•A bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree is preferred.
•Competitive coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level.
•A personal commitment to North Park’s mission of Christian higher education.
•Able to work a schedule appropriate to coaching a team (i.e. days, nights, and weekends).
•Able to lift and move athletic equipment.
•Able to travel with team, by vehicle or plane.
•A valid driver’s license is required.
