Assistant Professor Athletic Training
The University of Mary in Bismarck, ND is inviting applications for an Assistant Professor for Athletic Training. This position is responsible for maintaining, assessing, and growing the Master of Athletic Training program, teaching assigned courses, advising students, advising research projects, and maintaining and obtaining contemporary expertise for teaching in athletic training.
All faculty are expected to demonstrate a willingness to support and advance the Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine mission and identity of the University of Mary (see www.umary.edu/about/mission/missionidentity.php). Responsibilities Include:
Teaching courses as assigned
Design, implement, evaluate and update the curriculum
Implement, evaluate and update policies for student admission, progression, retention, and graduation in keeping with the policies of the university
Participates in academic advising and guidance of students
Provides theoretical instruction and practice experiences
Pursues scholarly research
Evaluates student achievement of curricular outcomes related to AT knowledge and practice in a fair, consistent manner
Participates in activities that facilitate the maintaining of own competence and professional expertise in teaching
Participates in program, department, and university committees and meetings
Qualifications and Requirements Include:
Doctoral degree is required
Certified athletic trainer credential in good standing with the BOC
Licensure in the state of North Dakota
A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a certified athletic trainer
Previous teaching experience in athletic training
Contemporary experience in athletic training
A certified strength and conditioning specialist credential or other credentials to assist teaching in an AT program are preferred
