Assist the Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, and Technical Staff of a BIG TEN Volleyball program in accordance with NCAA, and University regulations. This position will be for a Volunteer Assistant Coach. Responsibilities will include assisting the program with the following: Assist in running and executing drills and training in practices. Assist in coordinating video/statistical programs, knowledge of volleyball statistics and statistical programs preferred. Organize and manage all technical equipment for practices and competitions. Coordinate with individuals involved with the program including but not limited to health staff, strength and conditioning staff, program managers, and practice players. Be able to compete and/or role play in practice settings. Help with initial scouting and video breakdown of opponents. Travel with the team to all practices and matches. Assist the recruiting coordinator as NCAA rules permit. Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Strong organizational and communicative skills required. Competitive volleyball coach and/or playing experience required. Strong Volleyball statistical/video editing and computer skills are preferred. Applicant must be able to successfully pass an NCAA recruiting test. Other qualifications include the ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups and administrators, faculty, staff, and students. The successful applicant must be able to develop and implement innovative approaches and solutions, work well independently and in teams, and be flexible in accepting new responsibilities.
Conditions of Appointment: This is a full-time volunteer position that will not include a salary nor benefits. The preferred start date will be as soon as possible upon selection. A successful criminal background check will be required for any selected volunteers.
