The Academic Coordinator oversees the daily operations and functions of the Academic Support Programs for assigned athletic teams and other assigned student-athletes. Assists the Director of Academic Support Services and the Director of Life Skills Development to administer developmental and support programming for all student-athletes. This position will develop and maintain strong communication with supervisor, peers, internal and external constituents, coaches, administrators, faculty, and the Faculty Athletics Representative.

1-3 years of professional work experience in academic advising or instruction at university level
Demonstrated ability to motivate and work effectively with a diverse group of student-athletes and work effectively with a diverse staff
Excellent interpersonal, organization and problem solving skills and an ability to communicate with numerous University constituencies in an effective manner to clearly explain options and solutions
Demonstrated ability to operate with a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
Ability to: Work in a time sensitive, team-oriented, collaborative environment with irregular hours, including nights and weekends; Problem solve, think creatively and organize; Have a sense of urgency and work well under pressure; exercise good judgement, flexibility, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs.
3-5 years professional work experience in academic advising or instruction at university level.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Experience with NCAA Compliance Assistant internet database.
Experience with BANNER student records system.
Experience with GradesFirst student monitoring system.
Familiarity with Gonzaga University catalog, academic requirements, and policies and procedures.
