Frostburg State University Athletics Department is accepting applications for a full-time contractual Track & Field coach specializing in the throwing events. This position will be the primary coach for all throwing events, but may ask to assist in other areas as needed. This position is a 40-hours-per-week, one-year appoint which are renewable for an additional year based on performance. Hourly rate $11.00 with limited benefits included. This position is available January 2, 2020. FSU boasts 21 varsity sports (10 men/11 women). The Frostburg track & field programs started in 1974 and since that time have finished inside the top-10 at the NCAA Championships countless times, while the Bobcat men claimed National Championships during both the indoor and outdoor seasons in 1986 and the outdoor title in 1987. The two programs have combined for nearly 275 All-American awards and close to 50 individual National Championships. Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach with coaching and supervision of the Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Teams. Help monitor and advise student-athletes to ensure academic success. Assist in evaluation and recruitment of prospective student-athletes. Other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one year of coaching or other related work experience. Previous competition experience at the collegiate level. Ability to coach throws. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree and/or two years of coaching experience.
