Oversees alumni solicitation and relations, major annual fund raising, donor acquisition programs, and public relations. Plans and coordinates special events and fund raising projects. Develops strategies for marketing new and existing programs. Researches donor histories and solicitation strategies. Writes and edits proposals and other promotional materials. Plans, administers, and monitors the department's budget. Designs and generates reports. May supervise staff. Performs related responsibilities as required. Additional Job Details: I. Overall Responsibilities The primary responsibilities of the Associate Director for Development are to (1) develop and implement strategies for identifying, cultivating and successfully soliciting support from individuals, and (2) to plan and implement programs with the overall goal of increasing funds available to Emory Athletics. This position is an integral part of the development team and is responsible for managing a portfolio of assigned donors, developing and writing proposals, overseeing the annual giving program, implementation of special programs/events, and cultivating and soliciting athletic sponsors. II. Specific Duties and Responsibilities •Maintains a portfolio of leadership and annual fund prospects in the $25,000-99,000 range. Conduct/coordinate personal calls to retain and grow annual gifts. •Work with appropriate staff to identify potential sources of private gift support and recommend appropriate strategies and programs to generate gifts. •Plans and implements the Emory Athletics annual giving program. Manages donor acquisition and renewal processes. •Establishes goals for the annual fund campaign and creates new fundraising initiatives as appropriate. Uses metrics to analyze and improve annual giving program. Adjusts plan as needed. •Solicits donors for leadership gifts to the annual fund and specific initiatives that aligns with our Campus Life and Athletics goals. •Works closely with the Senior Director of Development to strategically implement a Friends of Athletics groups. •Plan and implement programs that raise awareness, inform and cultivate individuals with the capability of making gifts; move solicitation of gifts forward according to readiness. •Closely monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed to meet or exceed goals. •Travel as needed to meet with prospects. As appropriate, staff Emory, Campus Life and Athletics events, and/or volunteers on cultivation or solicitation calls. •Coordinates with Athletic coaches on best practices and tactics to increase annual support.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and three years experience in higher education, development, fund raising, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications
