Binghamton University is seeking an experienced, energetic, engaging and collaborative individual to manage and support the media operations and media equipment for the Event Center and other athletic venues. The Events Center and other athletic venues in Binghamton University hosts approximately 100 athletics events and 30+ other major events annually. Many of these events are internal events, but several are external events where external clients use the venue. Most of these events are live streamed using different media technologies. The Event Support & Integration Engineer will be responsible for providing design input for the equipment and media solutions for all the relevant venues, supporting integration of the new equipment, preventive and reactive maintenance of all equipment, and for management and operations of all equipment in these venues. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing, operating, and maintaining all necessary software. The incumbent will be responsible for interacting with events staff and internal or external clients in planning for the technology needs of the event, making necessary preparations, conducting load-in, staffing the technology aspect of the event, and load-out. Finally, the incumbent will be responsible for responding to media services needs of Information Technology Services. The incumbent reports to the Director of Operations and Infrastructure in Information Technology Services and Associate Director of Athletics - Communications.Specific Responsibilities: Provide design input for all media equipment, software, and integration for the Events Center and other athletic venues Provide technology and media support to live broadcasts athletic events on ESPN and other digital platforms, as well as high visibility meetings, conferences, and client events Meet with events staff and event owner to assess the technology requirements of the event and create an event plan to address all of the requirements Assemble, prepare, and setup the necessary equipment prior to the event and test Staff the event and operate all media and audio visual equipment Provide event recording and broadcasting functions Maintain and troubleshoot all related equipment Plan, design, install, configure, and upgrade hardware, operating system, and software for all the media services equipment; applying patches/fixes; managing security; managing and monitoring system performance, file systems and local network; and improving availability and reliability Act as a liaison to other technical groups on issues with implications impacting multiple groups Evaluate related hardware and software products and make recommendations for adoption Stay current with the technology and capabilities in media domain and propose project plans to incorporate new technology and capabilities which will improve service provision in this area Prepare, maintain, and publish equipment inventory As many of the events supported by the incumbent will be after regular business hours, on weekends, and on holidays, the incumbent's work hours will be variable
