Summary: Recruit student-athletes, coach, promote and manage all phases of a Division I intercollegiate softball program in compliance with all NCAA, Conference USA, and institutional rules and regulations.
Statement of Duties and Responsibilities: •Demonstrates strong commitment to the academic goals of the university and to the academic success of the student-athlete. •Organizes and manages all day-to-day phases of a Division I softball program, including, but not limited to recruitment and retention of student-athletes, game scheduling, scouting of opponents and game preparation. •Organizes and manages in-game strategy, team travel, student-athlete monitoring including academics, training and strength and conditioning, budget preparation and management, public speaking, community involvement, staff oversight and summer camp instruction. •Appoints, supervises and evaluates staff members including assistant coaches. •Facilitates a positive environment for student-athletes and coaches. •Responsible for all areas of team performance including preseason and postseason training, practice and competition. •Works closely with support staff to ensure peak performance of the athletes while ensuring their utmost physical health and safety. •Must have a strong commitment to the academic goals of the university and to the academic success of the student-athlete. •Actively promotes the softball program on campus and in the community and fundraises as necessary Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems. •Complies with all State and University policies. •Other duties may be assigned. •Ability to travel extensively. •Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Five years of professional softball and/or NCAA softball coaching and/or NCAA softball playing experience is required. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Experience recruiting student-athletes and fundraising for athletic programs required.
Preferred Experience: Master's Degree and three years of experience as a Division I head coach preferred
