Ohio Wesleyan University’s Intercollegiate Athletics invites applications for the position of
Head Coach – Women’s Soccer. This is a twelve-month full-time benefitted position.
The Head Women’s Soccer Coach will be responsible for all phases of strong leadership in managing a competitive NCAA division III women’s Soccer program. The ability to coach and teach all aspects of the game, provide leadership, build a positive culture and team dynamic as well as mentor student-athletes, recruit and have the ability to evaluate talent and potential, are essential skills. Administrative and operational duties such as arrange travel, manage budget, and develop alumni contacts and fund-raising are also essential duties of the head coach. The addition of a secondary responsibility will be included.
It is also expected that the Head Women’s Soccer Coach embrace the department mission of supporting the academic mission of the university, developing student-athletes as contributors to the greater community, creating opportunities for competitive success, leading student-athletes to understand what it is like to be part of something greater than oneself. A commitment to academic excellence and athletic balance is critical.
Qualifications: A Master’s Degree is preferred; Bachelor’s Degree required, demonstrated coaching/recruiting experience and relevant competitive experience at the division III collegiate level is highly recommended. All candidates should also possess an understanding of the role athletics plays in a rigorous academic setting and an ability to identify and attract outstanding students to the University. Candidates must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of Ohio Wesleyan University, the North Coast Athletic Conference, and the NCAA. Effective written and oral communication skills are required.
