Texas Woman’s University, an NCAA Division II institution and member of the Lone Star Conference, is seeking a highly motivated professional with a strong work ethic for the position of Assistant Athletics Director for Communications. This is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.

In 2015, Gymnastics was the best in the country in academics when they placed first out of 74 NCAA Division I, II and III institutions with a 3.79747 team GPA. As a department, TWU has a current “winning streak” of 74 consecutive semesters (37 years) with posting a 3.0 overall grade point average or higher. In Spring 2019, the department GPA was 3.601, an all-time high.
The Assistant AD for Communications is part of the director’s senior administrative team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing, implementing and evaluating the communications and marketing plan for the University’s Athletics department with NCAA Division II teams and competitive sports teams. This position creates unique written and visual content; manages the department’s website and social media platforms; ensures maintenance of archived information, records and statistics; supervises a Marketing and Promotions Coordinator; and serves as the main contact for all communications and sports information needs.
Required qualifications include: a bachelor’s degree; three years relevant experience in communications/sports information at the collegiate level; experience with sports writing, website design and management, preferably with SIDEARM-designed websites, digital photography, graphic design, and applying creative content to printed collateral and social media platforms.
