Elmira College, a member of NCAA Division III and the Empire 8 Conference, invites applications for the positions of Head Men’s Wrestling Coach and Head Women’s Wrestling Coach (2 separate positions). The Head Coach is responsible for all phases of a successful NCAA Division III wrestling program in accordance with all department, college, and NCAA Division III rules, regulations, and philosophies. The selected candidate will be charged with building Elmira’s first ever men’s/women’s wrestling program. He or she must possess exceptional recruiting skills.
In addition, the head coach performs all duties related to team operations including but not limited to the recruitment of qualified student athletes, student athlete development and retention, scheduling, budget management, and student athlete conduct. The head coach supports the entire Athletic Department by performing any ancillary duty as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
This is a full-time, 12-month position. Bachelor's Degree required (Master's preferred) with prior collegiate playing, coaching and recruiting experience. Candidates with initiative, strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently but also as part of a team, understanding of NCAA regulations, and a commitment to the academic mission of the College are desired.
