Assistant Business Manager, Financial Reporting and Analysis position is in the Athletics Business Office that includes management of budgets/forecasts, audit response, reporting, financial modeling, analytics, and supporting activities.
Essential Duties are as follows;
Facilitate/prepare reporting and analysis of department/sport level annual budgets, quarterly projections and monthly estimates.
Analyze changes/variances in actuals vs forecasts/budget, changes in forecasts vs budget, and changes in forecast vs prior forecast.
Analyze and define financial and operating metrics and monitor business trends and key performance indicators for management reporting.
Creation and posting of monthly budget status reports.
Collaborate with different departments to implement and maintain metrics, provide analysis and reporting, and to assist in optimizing our expense efficiency and forecasting.
Build dynamic forecasting models for revenue and expense line items to support business decisions and explore financial impacts of potential opportunities.
Create new and update existing automated financial reports for the department(s)
Respond to audit requests.
Assist in the preparation of the EADA and NCAA reports.
Provide support to the Analytics Team assisting with reporting, dashboards, models and data integrity.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education: GED/High School Grad or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:
24 months of experience in reviewing/analyzing financial data, including but not limited to budgets
Advanced excel skills with ability to build and manipulate spreadsheets
Financial or accounting experience to include analysis, auditing and budgeting
Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines
Strong research and investigative skill
Must be able to read and interpret policy
Advertised Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, engage in repetitive motion, reach, sit, move, feel, touch, communicate, hear including receiving detailed information orally and see including color, depth perception or clarity.
Experience with University accounting system
Experience with intercollegiate athletics.
Knowledge and understanding of NCAA and Big 12 rules
Supervision: No Supervisory Duties
