The University of Missouri, a member of the SEC and a Division I institution, is seeking highly motivated applicants for the position of Assistant Director of Compliance. Under the general supervision of the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, the Assistant Director will work in the compliance office located in the Mizzou Athletics Training Center (MATC) for serving over 550 student-athletes in 20 sports. The proposed duties for this position include, but are not limited to: Oversee and coordinate initial and transfer eligibility evaluations and Eligibility Center accounts; collaborate with Coaching Staffs, Sports Administrators, and Senior Staff to coordinate practice and competition eligibility certification reports, roster management, and squad lists ( in conjunction with Certifying Officer); liaise with Athletics Certification Officer, FAR, Admissions, International Center, and other campus partners; review and approve team travel; manage NCAA Transfer Portal and coordinate Transfer Exit Interviews with FAR;coordinate and administer NCAA and institutional student-athletes forms (beginning of the year entrance forms); assist in processing NCAA and SEC waivers ( Initial Eligibility, Progress-Towards-Degree, Athletics Activities, Medical Hardship, Extensions of eligibility, APR, etc); assist with Academic Performance Program and Graduation Success Rates ( in conjunction with Certifying Officer); assist with management of Compliance Assistant, JumpForward, TeamWorks, and/or other relevant industry software; coordinate athletic participation/season-of-competition reports; conduct amateurism reviews; monitor and track recruiting with Recruiting Logs (phone call, text, mail, email) and Recruit Report; approve and track Official and Unofficial Visits and coordinate post-approval; coordinate with Business Office to review and approve coaching staff recruiting expenses; oversee Recruit/Coach Complimentary Ticket Approval; coordinate complimentary pass list approvals for prospects and coaches; assist with annual NCAA Coaches Recruiting Exam; oversee and Review Donation Requests; assist in coordination with athletics financial aid, participation awards, and other reports; assist with violation self-reports; create and present education materials for staff and student-athletes; provide rules interpretation to athletic department staff and student-athletes; oversee graduate assistant(s) and other law externs/interns who help manage day-to-day; ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and other non-traditional schedules; other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance. Requirements for this position include a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and at least two years of experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS: 2 years of compliance-related work experience in intercollegiate athletics;ability to read, analyze, interpret, instruct and effectively communicate complex rules, regulations and policies from the University, SEC, MAC and NCAA; ability to effectively communicate with coaches, administrators, student-athletes, parents, faculty, staff, and high school staff members; excellent communication (oral, written, presentation), planing, problem-solving, negotiation, organizational, analytical, and customer service skills; interpersonal skills in dealing sensitively with a wide variety of constituents; ability to influence and build work relationships amoung a diverse workforce at all levels; ability to handle multiple tasks and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced enviroment; possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting business processes; personal computer and related software skills, e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, Internet, etc.; fluent knowledge of PeopleSoft, Cai, LSDBi, Transfer Portal, elgibility Center, and other NCAA systems. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Juris Doctor or other graduate/professional degree in relevant field; 3-5 years of compliance-related work experience; knowledge of SEC-specific and MAC-specfic rules and regulations; NCAA Education Certified: experience as a student-athlete;experience with financial aid policies, procedures, and practices.
