Palm Beach State College at the Lake Worth Campus is currently searching for a Head Coach for Men`s Basketball. The Head Coach will be responsible for providing coaching, supervision and management of student athletes and staff. Responsible for maintaining compliance with rules, regulations and policies of the College and applicable governing bodies. Assists the Athletic Office with fundraising, lodging, marketing, promotion, and scheduling of events and activities. Supports athletic student success, engagement and completion. Assists with student recruitment and retention in support of the College’s strategic plan. This role requires a variable schedule that includes evening and weekend availability.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
2+ years of related athletic coaching experience
1+ years supervisory / managerial experience
Policies, rules, and regulations of the FCSAA and NJCAA
Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
Developing and motivating student athletes academically and athletically
Work with diverse populations and varying education levels
Prioritize assignments/workload / time management
Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
Valid driver’s license
Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in a related field of study
2+ years collegiate coaching experience
Work Environment and Physical Demand:
Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 pounds.
Reach and grasp objects.
Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Stand for extended periods of time.
Use of video display terminal.
Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
Identify and distinguish colors and shades of color.
Communicate information orally and in writing.
Receive and understand information through oral and written communication.
Proofread and check documents for accuracy.
Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions.
Risk for occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Operate motor vehicle.
Work a fluctuating work schedule.
