Triton Athletics won three of its last four and eighth overall California Collegiate Athletic Association Commissioner's Cups in 2018-19 and placed second in the Learfield IMG Directors' Cup - the fourth-straight top 10 finish and its 19th since 1995-96.
The incumbent will assist in the Intercollegiate Athletics program, focusing on athletics communications. Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Athletics Communications office for UC San Diego Athletics’ 23 intercollegiate sports, and overall game day operations. The incumbent will be designated as the primary contact for a specific sport program, depending on experience and the needs of the department. The incumbent must follow the athletic philosophy consistent with that of the UC San Diego Athletic Department and NCAA, and a commitment to diversity in all of its forms.
Duties include writing and compiling (press releases, event previews/notes, post-event recaps, bios, and feature stories). Distributing news, results, statistics, and other information to various constituents. Attending home events and providing game management support. Generating content for UCSDtritons.com and department social media accounts. Graphic design, video production, upkeep of statistics and record books, game management (public address, statistics, scoreboard), award nominations and daily maintenance of UCSDtritons.com as well as social media outlets.
Identifying feature stories and pitching to media outlets. Producing game day programs. Compiling accurate statistics and records. Nominating student-athletes and coaches for athletic and academic awards. Organizing photo libraries and assisting with photography shoots. Conducting research for various projects. Assisting in the production of department publications and assisting in special events.
Work schedule will be arranged with supervisor, but often includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work frequently non-conventional hours required (including evenings, weekends and holidays).

Demonstrated experience using in-game statistical programs, including StatCrew.
Proficiency in the use of basic computer programs relevant to job duties, such as Adobe Creative Suite software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).

Triton teams have captured 30 national championships while 44 squads have finished as national runners-up and 49 others have achieved national third-place honors. All told, UC San Diego has won 251 national, regional and conference championships. UC San Diego student-athletes have won 138 individual national championships. A remarkable 1,309 Tritons have been named to All-America teams. UC San Diego student-athletes have excelled academically as well, earning 36 prestigious NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarships and 78 Academic All-America selections, including a program-high 10 over the 2015-16 campaign. Consistently, over 55 percent of student-athletes earn a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, placing them on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll. In 2016-17, UC San Diego posted a fourth-place finish out of 266 Division II schools in the Learfield Directors' Cup, an award emblematic of the best overall athletics department in the country. Since moving to the NCAA Division II level for the 2000-01 academic year, UCSD has placed in the top seven programs in the country on 12 different occasions and finished second overall twice. UC San Diego won its seventh California Collegiate Athletic Association Commissioner's Cup title in 2017, an award symbolizing the best overall athletics department in the prestigious conference.
