The Assistant Director of Enrichment Services is responsible for assisting with the management of the Enrichment Services unit that serves more than 700 student-athletes. Enrichment Services includes NCAA academic progress, academic enhancement and well-being programming, advising, tutoring and career development. Responsibilities include; -Assist the Director of Enrichment Services with the career development program, providing guidance and career counseling to student-athletes,assist in planning events including career forums, workshops and guest speaker series; assist student-athletes with securing internships, applications to graduate school and securing employment upon graduation; assist student-athletes in developing job-readiness skills, including but not limited to cover letters, resume writing, and successful interviewing skills. -Assist the Director of Enrichment Services with the tutoring program and awards distribution process. -Assist the Director of Enrichment Services with Department’s academic awards and enhancement programming, as well as grade reports. -Assist the Director of Enrichment Services with the development and implementation of well-being, leadership, career development and diversity programs as well as implementation of other Office of Enrichment Services initiatives. -Serve as a resource for coaches, prospective student-athletes and parents during the recruitment process. -Assist in coordinating the Columbia Athletics Offices of Enrichment Services social media platforms: Twitter, Instagram, and Four-Year Action Plan LinkedIn Group. -Assist with the Lions Cup Program -Assist in the general coordinating of various committees, groups, and task forces within the Athletics Department and campus community -Assist the Director of Enrichment Services with the Columbia Athletics Enrichment Services Alumni/Employer Activity Database -Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to NCAA, Ivy League, University, and Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education’s Code of Ethics. -Assume other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director for Enrichment Services and the Director of Enrichment Services
Bachelor’s Degree and/or its equivalent required. 0-2 years of work experience. Athletics experience is preferred. Proven ability to develop, establish and sustain relationships with various constituents. Demonstrated success in business, education, athletics, or related field. Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Strong research and computer skills. Proven ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, administrators and alumni.
