The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Murray State University, a NCAA Division I FCS institution and Ohio Valley Conference member seeks qualified applicants for a graduate assistantship in the department of multimedia and production. The start date for the position, which is a 10-month (Aug.-May), benefit-exempt appointment, will be August 1, 2019 and run through May 31, 2020. The ideal candidate will fill the position for two academic years.
The video production graduate assistant will provide technical and creative assistance to all aspects of the video production efforts of Murray State Athletics. They will primarily be working with the broadcasting efforts of Racer Athletics to ESPN+, live board shows and other platforms. They will also assist the Director of Multimedia and Production with video shoots, editing of press conferences and other duties as assigned. The position will also occasionally serve as director/producer of certain live events. Night and weekend hours, plus some travel to select events, are required.
Bachelor’s degree in television production, film, journalism, communications or related field. Employment is contingent on being accepted into a graduate program at Murray State University. Working knowledge and experience with live production, preferably in sports, required. Knowledge of production switchers, replay, graphics programs and basic A/V routing required. Basic knowledge of post-production editing/graphics software (Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects) required, extensive experience preferred.
Additional Salary Information: The compensation for this position includes the price of graduate tuition at Murray State for one academic year (two classes per semester), housing and a $500 monthly stipend.
