Manhattan College, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking applications for the full time position of Director of Women’s Basketball Operations.
The successful candidate is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the program– specifically recruiting, academic support, player development and evaluation, scouting/film analysis, fundraising, day to day program administration. Must be committed to assist in managing the program within the guidelines of the NCAA, MAAC and Manhattan College Department of Intercollegiate Athletic policies and procedures and will be expected to work cooperatively with all constituencies and campus units.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Must be organized and detail oriented. Must demonstrate the ability to work well with department administrators and vendors and to market and promote Manhattan College women’s basketball program. Must exhibit leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student athletes and staff. Must be a team player, and have the ability to support and assist other employees. Develop a positive atmosphere for the program both internally and externally within the athletic department and College.
Description of Job Duties:
May include but not limited to: managing all aspects of team travel including meals and corresponding budgets, practice scheduling/facility coordination, coordinate class excusals with academic advisors, fundraising, day to day program administration as well as other duties assigned by the Head Coach. Assist in the support of student-athlete academic success, while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Ability to communicate in a positive manner with student athletes, staff, parents, and alumni; strong organizational and planning abilities with excellent oral and written communication skills; a working knowledge of computer programs and systems. Have a valid driver license.
Bachelor’s degree, prefer a minimum of 2-5 years of women’s basketball experience at the college level. General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, NCAA policies and compliance issues.
