Coordinator of Athletic Programs (Events and Facilities Assistant)
Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking a highly qualified, dynamic, energetic and creative candidate to fill the job of Coordinator of Athletic Programs (Events and Facilities Assistant). This position coordinates all aspects of home event management for multiple varsity sports as assigned. Responsibilities include collaborating with visiting teams and officials on arrival and special needs; assist with supervision of facility operations; assist with organizing of logistics and facilitating athletic events including set-up; working with internal and external athletics groups on needs for each home event including security, parking and Emergency Medical Services coverage; coordinating the practice schedule for home teams and visiting teams, along with other special events, championships and tournaments. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Knowledge of conference and NCAA rules with specific concentration in game management or facility management preferred. The successful candidate must possess exemplary writing and interpersonal skills, effectively communicate, efficiently multi-task, demonstrate a genuine appreciation in working with diverse audiences and demonstrate a commitment to student and staff development. Those who are well organized, self-directed and excel at leading and working within a team environment are encouraged to apply. Works evenings and weekends as required to adequately supervise staff of up to 80 or more part time and student workers. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
