The Associate Athletic Director assists and supports the Director in the day-to-day operation and management of the Athletic Department. Essential duties include, but are not limited to, sport program oversight and direct supervision of coaching staff; creating and implementing student-athlete life skills, health and wellness, resiliency, and leadership initiatives; coordinating program community service efforts; serving as the liaison and collaborating with various university departments including the Office of Housing and Residential Life, Dining Services, Admissions, Alumni Relations Office, and Student Affairs on department, division and university programs. Providing oversight and serving as the game administrator at selected home contests; assisting in the development, revision and maintenance of the Athletics Department Staff Manual and Student-Athlete Handbook. Serving on internal and external committees and serving as the primary advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Being an active member of the Division of Student Affairs and supporting divisional efforts and initiatives; developing and implementing assessment plan of department’s programs; identifying existing programs and needs of student-athletes in order to contribute to an ever evolving department. Performing other duties assigned and agreed upon by the Director and Associate. This job requires flexible job hours including nontraditional hours, nights and weekends
Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred
3-5 years minimum work experience
5-8 years preferred work experience
