Long Island University is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the Assistant Field Hockey Coach Position. This position will assist the Head Coach with the organizing, planning and coaching of the Field Hockey team.
Essential Functions: The candidate will demonstrate the ability to assist the coaching staff in all phases of a highly competitive Division I field hockey program including, but not limited to: recruiting, on-field coaching/training; organization of practice/game strategies; scouting; film review; monitoring of academic progress; administrative tasks and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
• Bachelor’s Degree • Competitive playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Commitment to academic and athletic success • Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions • Dedication and motivation to initiate, lead and support value-added projects • Meticulous attention to detail • Knowledge of NCAA and Conference rules and compliance • Self-motivated, results-oriented, with a positive demeanor • Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to plan, establish priorities and successfully manage multiple priority projects • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relations • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, and project a positive, professional attitude • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends • Must have valid drivers license
