Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) invites applications for the position of Head Softball Coach to begin immediately with on the field coaching duties and recruitment of student athletes for the fall of 2019. This is a part time stipend position that reports to the Director of Athletics. SMCC Softball is a member of the Yankee Small College Conference and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
The Softball program at SMCC plays both a fall and spring schedule that allows for a competitive program. Duties include, but are not limited to: all aspects of coaching and administrating a collegiate softball program; the successful recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes; scheduling practices; assist with the oversight and management of softball facility; hiring and supervision of assistant coaching staff; and assist with team fundraising initiatives.
Successful candidates should have a background as either a player or coach at the collegiate level or demonstrated experience at the high school level. Candidates with the ability to recruit student athletes successfully and to lead in all facets of coaching a collegiate softball program will be considered.
Additional Salary Information: This position has the ability for additional part time work on campus based on previous experience
