Minot State University is seeking candidates for a full-time Assistant Football Coach/Athletic Facilities Team Member. Minot State University is a proud member of NCAA DII and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Under the direct supervision of the Head Football Coach, the Assistant Coach has the responsibility of carrying out all duties assigned by the Head Football Coach as they relate to the administration of the sport and to always work in the best interest of the program, the Athletic Department, and the University. As a member of the Athletic Department’s Facilities Team, the Team Member is responsible primarily for event preparation (set-ups & tear downs) as well as any other assistance that is needed to promote effective and efficient function of our Athletic Facilities Team.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
Serves as a member of the Football staff.
Coaching 1. Required to annually pass the NCAA recruiting test before recruiting off campus. 2. Aid Head Coach in organizing and conducting practice sessions, scouting, and game preparation. 3. Assist the Head Coach in recruiting qualified student-athletes. 4. Annually declare and receive approval from the Director of Athletics and President for all outside income. 5. Aid in supervising conduct of athletes on trips and at games. 6.Responsible for other work-related duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach or the Director of Athletics.
Athletic Facilities Team Member 1. Responsible to aid in event preparation (set-ups & tear downs) under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, or his/her designee. 2. Responsible for minimal event/facility supervision as assigned by the Director of Athletics, or his/her designee. 3. Responsible to aid in snow removal as it pertains to athletic facilities. 4. Responsible for other work-related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics, or his/her designee.
Knowledge, skills and abilities preferred to perform duties and responsibilities described above:
1. Football coaching experience. 2. Possess general computer skills required, database management software experience preferred. 3. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be on your feet for much of the day. 4. Have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills. 5. Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
Staff members have a duty to cooperate with and furnish the NCAA, the conference or institution with truthful and complete information concerning involvement in or knowledge of rules violations.
A coach or staff member may be suspended or terminated if found to be involved in deliberate and/or serious violations of NCAA regulations
Rules education, satisfactory rules knowledge and documenting compliance activities are mandatory and athletics personnel will be evaluated on their performance
