University of Arkansas at Monticello Athletics Department Coordinator of Sports Information
The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) (www.uamont.edu) is seeking applicants for the position of Coordinator of Sports Information.
Responsibilities: Duties include preparing news releases and feature articles; distributing information to local, state and national media; serving as on-campus host for all intercollegiate athletic events and coordinating media coverage for those events; designing, writing and editing game programs, media guides and other promotional publications for athletics; maintaining athletic records and statistical files; maintaining and updating the athletic website; promoting individual athletes for post-season honors and serving as the university contact with the conference and national offices.
Qualifications: A baccalaureate degree in journalism or related field required. The applicant must be computer literate on both MacIntosh and PC; familiar with InDesign, Photoshop, WordPerfect and The Automated Scorebook statistical software in football, basketball, baseball, volleyball and softball. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a sports information office at a four-year college or university.
Salary: Position is grade C117 on state pay plan with an entry-level salary of $32,249 including excellent fringe benefits.
