The Graduate Assistant for Digital Media and Communications will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Peacock All Access Digital Network and ESPN productions. The position will also support the digital media and communications needs for all of Saint Peter’s 16 NCAA Division I sports.
•Assist full-time staff with monitoring of all production aspects for Peacock All Access Network and ESPN 3/+ streaming broadcasts •Provide technical and creative support for broadcasts by serving as producer and digital engineer •Train, hire and supervise freelance professionals and student staff for each ESPN 3/+ game. •Coordinate social media promotions around all broadcasts, including pre-game, in-game and post-game coverage •Assist with all other aspects of athletic communications including website maintenance, drafting of press releases, and game day operations •Assist with coverage of all athletic contests and events •Additional duties as assigned by the full-time staff
Experience with digital broadcasts is essential.
Experience with digital video equipment and editing software
Strong writing skills are necessary for the position
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have a high attention level for detail
Ability to direct and perform detailed work with accuracy under time pressures
Strong communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to interact with diverse groups
All interested candidates will need to successfully enroll in a full-time graduate program at Saint Peter’s University in order to be eligible for the assistantship
The position is required to be present at home events for assigned sports, which involves working weekends on a regular basis when sports are in season.
The job also requires being in the office for late evenings if there are home games, special events and to prepare for upcoming games. The same applies to holidays if teams are in season.
Travel required on occasion to away contests or events
Periods of high volume/work load varies by season
Additional Salary Information: This position will begin at the start of the fall semester, in August 2019. The selected candidate will receive tuition remission for graduate classes (18 credits a year), University housing (on campus), plus a $500 meal stipend each semester.
