Wayne State College is seeking an Assistant Coach for the Women’s Soccer program.
Nature of Work: Recruits, coaches, instructs, and provides guidance to student-athletes of the women’s soccer team in a manner which promotes the academic, athletic, and social success and is consistent with the mission and goals of the Wayne State College Athletic Department.
Examples of Work Performed: 1. Represent Wayne State College and the Athletic Department in a positive manner with a high degree of integrity and quality. 2. Promote and support Wayne State College and it’s mission. 3. Promote and support Wayne State College Athletic Department’s program mission and goals. 4. Assist women’s soccer program within the rules, policies, and procedures of Wayne State College, NSIC, and the NCAA. 5. Assist the head coach with coaching, recruiting, administration, and overall implementation of the intercollegiate women’s soccer program. 6. Assist head coach with overseeing and monitoring student-athlete academic success and eligibility. 7. Provide leadership and oversight with program compliance of NCAA rules and regulations. 8. Assist head coach with the development, coordination, and implementation of practice plans, strategies, and coaching techniques. 9. Assist head coach with the coordination and implementation of sports camps and leagues. 10. Assist in promotion, fundraising, and public relations activities for the Wayne State College Athletic Department as required. 11. Other duties assigned by the Head Women’s Soccer Coach or the Director of Athletics.
Bachelor’s degree in physical education, recreation, health, or related field plus coaching experience
Must have knowledge of NCAA or NAIA (as applicable) rules and regulations.
Master’s degree – Required for teaching assignment
Three years of coaching experience at the NCAA Division II level (or higher)
Experience playing collegiate soccer
Experience coaching the goalkeeper position
Additional Salary Information: Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive and comprehensive benefit package. Annual Salary range is $34,453.00 to $43,065.00.
