Certified Athletic Trainer Intern Athletics and Campus Recreation Part-time, Temporary Wage, Non-exempt Position #T0002, T0003, T0019

In support of this mission, Longwood University invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Certified Athletic Trainer – Intern (3 positions) in the Athletics department.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: •Maintain medical/administrative records •Apply appropriate protective padding/braces/strapping/other orthotic devices •Design/modify appropriate individual rehab of post-surgical/post-injury conditions; Instruct athletes on proper mechanics with rehabilitation exercises •Evaluation for biomechanical issues and instruct the student-athlete on corrections •Transport student-athletes to appointments for athletic injuries •Primary sports coverage for club sports and assisting with the division I athletes
Pay Band UG. Position limited to a maximum of 29 hours per week on average. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits do not accompany this position. A successful criminal background check is required. REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s Degree required • BOC certification as an athletic trainer required and eligibility for a Virginia State License required • CPR and AED certification • Valid driver’s license; must meet Longwood University’s criteria for driving institution owned vehicles
