The Drury University Department of Athletics invites applications in a national search for the position of Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing the athletics compliance activities of the department while doing so in an environment that: 1) creates an atmosphere where graduation is facilitated through participation in intercollegiate athletics, 2) teaches student-athletes to be productive citizens who contribute to society for life, and 3) facilitates winning championships. More specifically, the position is responsible for promoting an atmosphere of compliance, monitoring Drury University compliance with all NCAA and conference rules, educating various constituents on NCAA and conference rules, enforcing Drury University compliance with NCAA and conference rules, and submitting NCAA and conference reports. The individual may also serve as a sport administrator and perform competition management duties for assigned sports. The individual must have an athletics philosophy that values the educational and personal well-being of student-athletes while emphasizing the university and athletics department mission, vision, core values and culture.

Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred and at least three years of progressively responsible experience in collegiate athletics compliance or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Extensive knowledge of NCAA Division II rules, education columns and interpretations
Extensive knowledge of and skill in implementing best practices for monitoring compliance with and the enforcement of NCAA Division II rules
Extensive knowledge of and skill in implanting best practices for educating various constituents about NCAA Division II rules, education columns and interpretations
Proficiency in NCAA applications (e.g., RSRO, CAi, LSDBi, Eligibility Center, NLI, Transfer Portal) and Microsoft Office programs
Sport administrator and competition management (for a variety of sports) skills and abilities
Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with students, faculty, staff, donors and the general public
Strong organizational skills resulting in the ability to prioritize workload and meet short-term deadlines on a regular basis
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Attention to detail while maintaining an understanding of the big picture
Ability to operate a computer, printer and multi-function office machine (copy, scan, fax)
Ability to operate public address and scoreboard systems
Ability to work nights and weekends
Ability to travel for work related duties
Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Ability to represent the Athletics Director when necessary
