Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution located in Northwest Ohio and member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, seeks qualified applicants to serve as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach. Reporting to the Athletic Director, the individual will be responsible for the total operation of the women’s soccer.
Soccer duties include recruiting, game preparation, practice organization, scheduling, fund-raising, budget preparation and management, student-athlete mentoring, development of an annual service learning/engagement project for student-athletes, mentoring and evaluation of assistant coaches, and other duties normally associated with being the head coach of an intercollegiate program. Additional expectations of this position include knowledge of and commitment to all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations, game administration duties, and some departmental and campus committee work/involvement.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree (masters preferred) and a valid driver’s license. Applicants should possess a strong coaching background as a soccer coach with demonstrated success as an energetic recruiter and positive role model for student athletes. Preferred candidates will have previous collegiate soccer coaching, playing and recruiting experience. This is a full-time, 10-month position (August 1-May 31).
