Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance & Student-Athlete Development
The Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Student-Athlete Development reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for oversight, supervision and coordination of all activities related to athletic compliance with the NCAA, Patriot League Conference and Lafayette College bylaws, rules and regulations.
Serve on the department’s Leadership and Management team to assist in the communication and execution of the strategic goals and objectives for Lafayette Athletics
Oversee the management of initiatives that promote institutional and department culture of integrity and compliance, including the implementation of an ongoing comprehensive rule education program, providing rules interpretations, coordination of the waiver submissions, completion and submission of annual reports, and violation reports.
Oversee student-athlete development initiatives that ensure the holistic development of our student-athletes, including the Oaks Leadership Program, career development programming, and community service and campus engagement.
As a sport administrator, provide leadership, guidance and oversight for each assigned program.
Serve as the point of contact on all issues related to assigned sport programs and utilize leadership and communications skills to resolve concerns for coaches, student-athletes and support staff.
Provide supervision and oversight to the Assistant Director of Compliance and the Coordinator for Student-Athlete Academic Support, including the establishment of goals and priorities, conducting annual evaluations, and providing recommendations for professional development
Build strong relationships with student-athletes, teams, coaches, campus partners and community members.
Provide supervision and oversight to the Assistant Director of Compliance, including the establishment of goals and priorities, conducting annual evaluations, and providing recommendations for professional development.
Serve as liaison to the Coordinator for Student-Athlete Academic Support.
Coordinate development of student-athlete policies and updates to the Student-Athlete Handbook while managing student-athlete discipline.
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred, plus a minimum of five years’ experience in a Division I athletics compliance office.
Experience or demonstrated ability to manage staff and coaches.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to customer service.
Outstanding interpersonal skills to connect with a diverse community of students, faculty and staff.
Proficient in computer skills, including the use of NCAA Compliance Assistant, compliance management databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
