The Deputy Athletic Director serves as the chief operating officer for the Department of Athletics, with responsibility and accountability for effective day-to-day operations, programming and administration of key department functions, including marketing and ticket sales, financial and budget management, personnel supervision and management, communications and contract negotiations. The Deputy AD also ensures that collaborative and constructive relationships are maintained with university partners, with respect to academics and compliance, student support, financial aid, facilities and game day operations to ensure optimal outcomes for student-athletes, athletic programs and the university at large. Additionally, the Deputy Athletic Director works closely with the Athletics Director and senior administration to detail strategic plans and goals, as well as appropriately monitor and report progress on the goals. This position also serves as Sport Administrator to several sport programs. Additional responsibilities include: ensure strict adherence with University, all sports conference affiliations, and the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) rules and regulations for Amateurism, Eligibility, Recruiting, Financial Aid, Awards and Benefits, Playing and Practice Seasons, and Title IX.
We seek candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree, with an advanced degree preferred. Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of experience as a senior level administrator in athletics. Excellent communication, supervisory, leadership and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, and accounting, budgeting, and financial management principles. Candidates should possess highly developed organizational skills and demonstrated computer competency.
