The Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country / Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach position is a 10-month, part-time appointment, with a comprehensive benefits package.
This position is responsible for the organizing and directing of all operations of the UW-River Falls men’s and women’s cross country programs and assisting with the men’s and women’s track and field programs.
Responsibilities include, but is not limited to: •25% Recruiting and retaining quality student-athletes •25% Preparing athletes and teams for competition •15% Practice organization •5% Mentoring student-athletes/player evaluations •5% Operating within allotted program budget/purchasing/fundraising •5% Coordinating practice and event schedules •5% Game management/Coordinating team travel to away events •5% Promoting the athletic program, and attending Athletic Department staff meetings •5% Directing the program within the guidelines of NCAA, Conference and Institutional rules and regulations •5% Additional duties as assigned
Competitive and/or Coaching Experience at the high school or collegiate level
Experience recruiting and retaining a diverse group of successful student-athletes
Strong commitment to the academic achievements of the student-athlete
Demonstrated commitment to student-athlete character development
Ability to communicate and organize with student-athletes within the rules and regulations of UWRF, WIAC and NCAA DIII
Ability to work well within a diverse staff and environment
Ability to set challenging goals and seek continuous improvement
Ability to contribute to a positive work environment
Ability to demonstrate leadership characteristics within athletics and throughout the university
