With the goal of building a championship caliber program, and with a commitment to student-athlete success both on the playing field and in the classroom, you will direct and manage all aspects of a Division I men's intercollegiate Lacrosse program. The successful candidate will understand and embrace the academic mission of Harvard College and the role that athletics plays to support it.
By using intercollegiate competition and all activities related to such competition, this position serves as a teacher and mentor to help build student character, prepare students for a constructive and effective life, and teach valuable life lessons including work ethic; discipline; resilience; persistence; teamwork and selflessness; goal-setting and goal achievement; overcoming adversity; and leadership. You will coach and develop student athletes; plan and direct the overall training strategy for the program; establish practice, training and competition schedules; oversee strength and conditioning of the athletes; develop and implement a student-athlete recruiting strategy; spearhead fundraising efforts and alumni engagement; and supervise Assistant Coaches.
Bachelor's degree required. At least 6 (six) seasons of experience coaching or playing lacrosse at the collegiate level. Coaching or playing lacrosse at the professional level may count towards this requirement.
Must have outstanding technical, tactical and strategic knowledge of lacrosse, including a proven ability to build a strong team culture.
Experience as a Head Lacrosse Coach at the college level preferred, particularly at the Division I level.
