We have openings in the following activity areas for the summer of 2019
Baseball – We play on a full little-league sized field complete with backstop and outfield fence. We also have our own batting cage and pitching machine. The instructor will have played competitive high school varsity and or college ball and will be familiar enough with the game of softball to teach those girls bunks who prefer that game to baseball. We have all the equipment people need (though many do bring their own glove) bats, ball, gloves, helmets and chest protectors and masks.
Lacrosse – We play on a designated lacrosse field with full-sized goals and full equipment for those campers who know the sport. You must know how to teach the basic fundamentals in a fun way so that you can make the activity enjoyable for the more athletic as well as the less-athletic children. It is important that you have an outgoing personality and are able to relate well to children. Stick checking is limited. We use gloves, helmets, goggles and a non-regulation softer ball to reduce the likelihood of injury. Our games are usually played seven versus seven; you will adjust when necessary.
Golf - We have a 250 yard driving range and also take trips to local courses with campers who wish to play rounds of golf. Usually around 4-6 campers will come at a time for instruction in chipping and driving. The candidate will most likely have played in high school and will be a 12 handicap or better.

About Camp Schodack
Warmth, Tradition, Spirit.
Under the same Krouner-family ownership for four generations, Camp Schodack is one of New York’s premier camps, located in the foothills of the Berkshires about 2.5 hours from New York City and Boston. Our enrollment of 145 boys and 145 girls, ages 7-14, is large enough to offer a diverse program yet small enough to foster the warm, friendly, family-like atmosphere that allows everyone to know each other.
The friendliness of our campers and staff and the supportive, non-pressured atmosphere, along with the emphasis on sportsmanship and fun on the playing fields promotes a community of kindness and life-changing friendships.
Our program has a great mix of structure and choice. We have outstanding instruction in individual and team sports, hobby and art programs, high and low ropes, two heated swimming pools and access to Burden Lake, while being situated on a beautiful 100 acre site.
Most of our staff are either college students from the US, Great Britain and Australia - or graduates of Camp Schodack's Leadership Training Program.
Come see why over 90% of our campers return year after year!
