South Dakota Mines is seeking qualified candidates for the Associate/Senior Associate Athletic Director of Internal Operations opening. SD Mines is located in Rapid City, South Dakota and is a NCAA Division II institution and member of the highly competitive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). The Hardrockers support 13 competitive NCAA DII sports, cheer leading and Esports. The Associate or Senior Associate AD (title based on qualifications) will serve on the athletic leadership team and will advise the Athletic Director on departmental matters. Hardrocker Athletics is looking for a confident, dynamic, energetic, highly organized, dedicated servant leader to join the Hardrocker Athletic family.
Expectations and Duties •Senior women’s leadership role within the Athletic Department •Organize, plan, and supervise all facets of athletic internal operations •Contribute to the establishment of policies/procedures that adhere to the athletic strategic plan •Coordinate logistical support of all 13 NCAA Division II game-day operations •Sport supervision, and evaluation •Advise the Athletic Director on departmental matters •Contribute to athletic administration meetings •Serve on internal and external committees •Travel for conference and national meetings and conventions •SD Mines liaison for RMAC & NCAA matters •Assist in developing strategies for marketing the athletics program that generate revenues and positive exposure for the institution •Athletic Title IX Deputy •Ability to problem solve •Liaison between Hardrocker Athletics and local High School Athletic Departments •Serve as campus liaison between athletics and student development •Other duties assigned by Athletic Director
Preference will be given to former collegiate athletes
Master’s degree is preferred
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in college coaching and/or athletic administration
High level of personal integrity and high standard for personal conduct
Demonstrated ability to collaborate, inspire and lead others
Demonstrated professional judgment and discretion
Capacity to make thorough decisions and take accountability for those decisions
Demonstrated flexibility, time management, initiative, organizational skills and daily multi-tasking
