The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting and supporting the Head Coach in conducting the individual activities of the Lacrosse program and fulfilling other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and the Athletic Director.
Office A.Attend all Staff Meetings, department and women's lacrosse related. B.Monitor, oversee, and support Student-Athlete Academic and Degree Progress. Monitor Study Hall Attendance (in accordance with both campus and women's lacrosse policy). C.Assist with coordination and implementation of individual academic and personal goal meetings D.Manage and Monitor Social Media. Consistently post on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook., etc. Assist with the education and promotion of positive use of social media E.Assist with organization and implementation of community service projects F.Submit all Expense Reports and other department documentation as necessary in a timely manner, with prior approval from head coach G.Submit CARA (Practice and participation logs) via FRONTRUSH as directed by head coach, in accordance with NCAA and ESU Compliance rules and regulations. H.Assist with annual equipment needs and ordering as assigned by head coach. I.Communicate with SID staff in regards to statistic accuracy, weekly awards, etc. J.Assist with all travel meals, transportation, and coordination as directed by head coach.
Coaching Duties A.Assist with all aspects of on field coaching as assigned B.Assist with all planning and implementation of practice plans, scouting reports, game plans. C.Film upload/ download all game film following home and away games and submit for breakdown via Krossover. D.Assist with all film breakdown for team and scouting purposes. E.Scout and evaluate opponents as assigned by head coach off campus and via film. F.Assume all duties and responsibilities (practice, game, travel) in lieu of head coach’s absence G.Coordinate and assist with scheduling individual sessions and team lift times
Recruiting A.Maintain an accurate contact and phone log using FRONTRUSH while following all NCAA, ESU and women’s lacrosse procedures. (BCC all recruit emails to FRONTRUSH and/or bcc or cc head coach on emails necessary.) B.Input and update new and existing PSA’s as directed by head coach. Send out questionnaire emails as directed. C.Coordinate with any and all on campus visits as directed by head coach. D.Contact and evaluate prospective student athletes as assigned by head coach. E.Assist with maintaining consistent communication with prospects and commits. F.Assist with on campus visits, tours, and transportation as assigned. G.Assist with any and all additional duties assigned by head coach regarding recruit communication, visits, database updates, tournament spreadsheets, etc.
Game Day Responsibilities A.Coordinate with manager and/or film staff in regards to home game schedule and away game travel schedules. B.Assist with all home and away game day meal needs as assigned by head coach C.Point of contact for visiting teams: coordinate any practice requests, locker room requests, etc. in conjunction with ESU support staff. D.Coordinate with all away game visiting team contacts for facility requests, parking instructions, etc. E.Coordinate with manager when necessary for pre-practice field setup needs, and in practice film or clock needs. F.Assist in game day set up, make sure game day staff has set the field to standard
Other A.Maintain consistent communication with primary and secondary mentors as laid out in professional development plan. B.Adhere to and enforce all rules and philosophies of the ESU Athletic Department and the woman’s lacrosse program. C.Report to head coach regarding any and all team or otherwise related issues that are brought to your attention. D.Other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Work Schedule: Varies based on the needs of the sport, competitions, practices, games, and recruiting
-Bachelor’s degree required, however, Master’s degree preferred. -Collegiate lacrosse experience as a head or assistant coach is preferred, however high school experience as head lacrosse or assistant coach will also be considered. -Thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the NCAA, PSAC, ESU, and other applicable afflictions is required. -Excellent written and oral communication skills required. -Computer literacy required
