Southwestern College (KS), a member of the KCAC and NAIA, invites applications for Head Coach of Men’s and Women’s Cross Country. Primary responsibilities will be focused on the recruitment, training and development of student athletes; additional duties will include: distance coaching in track and field, and monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes. A strong, well-rounded knowledge of distance events and previous coaching / recruiting experience at the collegiate level is preferred. Candidates must have strong organizational and communication skills, be highly-motivated and attentive to details, have the ability to lead and work independently as well as within a team environment, and the ability to provide effective leadership to student athletes to encourage both successful academic development and competitive performance.
Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of coaching experience required; Master’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of collegiate coaching preferred. This is a full-time, 10 month position (Aug-May).
