Under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and in accordance with all NCAA, Conference, State and Institutional rules and regulations this position will perform athletic training duties that help ensure the health and safety of our student-athletes. The assistant athletic trainer will provide preventative care and treatments and rehabilitation support of student-athletes as it relates to injuries or illnesses. This position is responsible for the managing the evaluation documentation for the student-athletes they work with. The designated sport oversight of this position will be determined by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. The assistant athletic trainer will also be responsible for assisting with various administrative functions as well as providing supervision of athletic training students in a clinical setting.
Graduated from a CAATE accredited athletic training education program
Certified Athletic Trainer from NATA Board of Certification of Athletic Trainers
Licensed Athletic Trainer from State of Wisconsin eligible
CPR with AED certification as a healthcare provider
One Year or more of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer
Demonstrates a working knowledge of athletic injury evaluation and assessment with the ability to identify appropriate conditioning and rehabilitation programs with continuous management of injuries.
Demonstrates knowledge of and successful experience with a full range of therapeutic modalities, treatments and appropriate use of exercise equipment.
Experience with manual therapy skills and demonstrated ability to stay up to date with current trends.
Experience as Certified Athletic Trainer at the collegiate level
Demonstrates ability to successfully complete administrative tasks of the position in a detailed manner
Demonstrates ability to professionally communication in a diverse culture with students, student-athletes, staff, faculty, doctor and other health professionals and outside affiliations.
Master’s degree in related field
