Develop, lead, and administer a Division I Athletic Training Program in accordance with University, NATA, the State of Utah, Big Sky and NCAA guidelines.
General Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Provide overall direction and leadership of the athletic training services with an emphasis on creating a culture that promotes a positive student-athlete experience. 2. Ensure that the health services provided for the student-athletes meets all national and state healthcare rules and regulations. Includes working within the scope of practice and maintaining accurate records of all services provided. 3. Ensure Emergency Action Plans are adequate and up to date for all athletic facilities used by student-athletes 4. Ensure that all in-season practices and home competitions are adequately staffed by the appropriate medical services. 5.Provide direct oversight and daily athletic training services to at least 1-2 sports. 6. Fulfill other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics or the Executive Staff member assigned as your sport administrator.
Education, Training and Skills:
1. Master’s degree preferred; bachelor’s degree required. 2. NATA Certified with current CPR certification. 3. Current Utah Athletic Training License or provide evidence of the ability to obtain a Utah Athletic Training License. (Application for Utah License must be submitted prior to the first date of employment. Failure to obtain a Utah License will result in immediate termination) 4. Proven knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules and regulations.
1. Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Full-Time athletic trainer in a collegiate setting. 2. Demonstrated history of a functional working relationship with strength and conditioning staff. 3. Demonstrated history of a functional working relationship with Physicians and other medical professionals. 4. Knowledge of and experience in implementing NCAA and NATA best practices and guidelines.
