Misericordia University is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Football Coach. The Assistant Coach will support and offer assistance to the head coach in all facets of the sports program, including the recruitment of quality student-athletes, retention of student-athletes, organization and planning of all practices, meet preparation, administrative tasks, etc. Assist to resolve game management and/or set-up issues for home events. Assist with game management set-up and site supervision.
Responsibilities include: •Abide by the rules and regulations established by the NCAA, Middle Athletic Conference, and the University. •Assist in providing leadership and support in planning, developing and implementing an instructional program in the sport as assigned by the Coach. •Assist in the coordination, organization, and planning of all practices, especially during the preseason in August. •Assist in fostering a climate conducive to learning. •Assist the Coach in various related functions of the sports program such as scouting and fundraising. •Maintain knowledge of coaching strategies. •Provide instruction to student-athletes on the fundamentals, details and strategies of the sport as assigned by the Coach. •Assist with pre-post workouts. •Assist in establishing good public and employee relations for the sport. •Maintain and upgrade professional skills in order to improve instructions for students. •Assist and supervise student staff. •Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.
Prior playing or coaching experience at the college, university, or professional level. Demonstrated athletic leadership experience. Strong administrative, managerial, and interpersonal skills. Evening and weekend hours to include team travel. Computer proficiency and experience with the Internet and basic computer software programs in a Window environment, including word processing and spreadsheets, are essential.
